Hi all,
This is a part 2 of the 授受 (じゅじゅ/giving and receiving) series.
Today, I will focus on て+あげます、て+もらいます and て+くれます。
In Japanese language, 授受 is considered a big matter.
Grammar 1: て+あげます・あげました

Structure: わたし (Giver) は Receiver に Noun Particle ______(Verb in て-form)+あげます・あげました
e.g. わたしは 田中さんに KFCを 買って あげます。
(I will buy KFC for Tanaka-san)
In this case, you cannot say
わたしは 田中さんに KFCを 買います。
It would sound like you are buying KFC from Tanaka-san.
Other example sentences:
1. わたしは 木村さんに 本を 貸してあげました。
I lent a book to Kimura-san
2. わたしは 高橋さんに 子供と 遊んであげました。
I played with Tanaka-san’s child (as a favour to Tanaka-san
Grammar 2: て+もらいます/もらいました

Structure: わたし (Receiver) は Giver に Noun Particle ______(Verb in て-form)+もらいます/もらいました
e.g. わたしは 伊藤さんに ばんごはんを 買ってもらいました。
(I asked a favour from Itou-san to buy dinner (for me/received the favour of buying)
Other example sentences:
1. わたしは 木村さんに 日本語を おしえてもらいました。
(I asked Kimura-san to teach me Japanese)
2. わたしは 鈴木さんに 車を なおしてもらいました。
(I asked Suzuki-san to repair my car)
Grammar 3: て+くれます・くれました

Structure: Giver は Me/my family (Receiver) に Noun Particle ______(Verb in て-form)+くれます
e.g. 田中さんは わたしに ひるごはんを 買ってくれました。
(Tanaka-san bought lunch for me (on her own accord))
Other example sentences:
1. 木村さんに 妹に 日本語を おしえてくれました。
(Kimura-san taught my sister Japanese (on her own accord))
2. ケンさんは 「私に」 Miloを かってくれまた。
(Ken-san bought me Milo (on his own accord))
There may be cases when 「に」may not appear after 「わたし」or 「わたしの家族」. Below is 1 example.
高橋さんは 私を IONへ つれていってくれました。
(Takahashi-san brought me to ION)
This is because 「つれていきます/bring someone to somewhere」 requires the receiver to be a direct object+を
