Beginner Class (Foundation Studies)
This foundation studies course is aimed to help you achieve the following.

-Introduce you to the Hiragana writing system and Katakana writing system
-Introduction to Japanese greetings
-Learn how to express time
-Learn how to express basic actions that you do (e.g eat, drink, sleep, etc)
-Understand Tokyo & Osaka Subway Map and learn how to navigate around Tokyo/Osaka
-Configure Japanese input on your PC
-Understand more about the Japanese way of living through real life experiences
-Cultural sharing of Japanese culture
-Watch Japanese drama and listen to Japanese songs

Main Textbook used:
Foundation Studies Textbook written by me and reviewed by native Japanese and existing students

Duration of program: 10 lessons (2.5 months)

Beginner Class

In my beginner class, we aim to help you to achieve the following.

-Key point:Able to converse using simple sentences with Japanese (i.e if i throw you to Japan for 1 week-1 month, you are able to find your way and ask for directions around)
-Master  at least 150-200 Kanji
-Learn some basic Business Japanese and basic ethics in working in a Japanese company.
-Understand more about the Japanese way of living through real life experiences of my 21 times of Japan travel, understand why sometimes Japanese people do things in 1 way but not the other.
-Introduce you to some Japanese friends who are staying in Japan/living in Singapore.
-Cultural sharing of Japanese culture.
-Appreciate and understand how to translate Japanese songs and drama
-Learn advanced useful sentence structures (if class is able to absorb)
-Sing Japanese songs
-Able to take the JLPT N5 exam at the end of the course (Jul/Dec), registration will be done for you. No need to worry having to go down to the registration centre to register. (^_^)

At the end of the course, there will be a short oral assessment done by a native Japanese to ascertain your level to converse in Japanese

Main Textbook used:
Minna no Nihongo 1 (2nd edition): For all new classes
+ other reference materials.

Duration of program: 30-40 lessons (7.5-10 months)

Intermediate Class

In my intermediate class, we aim to help you to achieve the following.

-Key point:Able to converse using simple-complex sentences with Japanese (should be able to speak in Japanese with correct intonation, talk about what you do in daily life)
-For example, in a 2 hours class, 30 mins will be spent fully on conversation (each student will be asked to converse and ask questions in Japanese for about 10-15 mins)
-Master at least 350-500 Kanji
-Learn Business Japanese and ethics in working in a Japanese company up to a certain level (taught as a separate 4-8 week course individually)
-Understand more about the Japanese history through real life experiences of my 26 times of Japan travel, understand why sometimes Japanese people do things in 1 way but not the other.
-Plan your own trip to Japan
-Cultural sharing of Japanese culture.
-Appreciate and understand how to translate Japanese songs and drama independently without help from the teacher
-Translate Japanese songs
-Learn N3 advanced useful sentence structures
-Able to take the JLPT N4 exam at the end of the course (Jul/Dec), registration will be done for you. No need to worry having to go down to the registration centre to register. (^_^)

At the end of the course, there will be a short oral assessment done by a native Japanese to ascertain your level to converse in Japanese

Textbook used: Minna no Nihongo 2 (2nd edition)

Duration of program: 48-52 lessons (11 months-1 year)

Pre-Advanced Class
In my Pre-Advanced class, i aim to help you to achieve the following.

-Key point:Able to converse using complex sentences with Japanese fluently (should be able to speak in Japanese with correct intonation without difficulty, talk about what you do in daily life)
-For example, in a 2 hour class, 30 mins will be spent fully on conversation (each student will be asked to converse and ask questions in Japanese for about 15-20 mins)
-Able to read newspaper articles with a help of a dictionary.
-Able to comprehend coherent conversations in everyday situations, spoken at natural speed, and is generally able to follow their contents as well as grasp the relationships among the people involved.
-Master at least 1000 Kanji
-Learn business manners in working in a Japanese company.
-Cultural sharing of Japanese culture.
-Appreciate and understand how to translate Japanese songs and drama independently without help from the teacher
-Learn some basic dialects.
-Review accents & intonations of words
-Revision of beginner and intermediate grammar and using it to form sentences
-Pre-advanced Business Japanese
-Business manners
-JLPT N3 grammar
-No need to worry having to go down to the registration centre to register for JLPT. (^_^)

At the end of the 1.5 year course, there will be a short oral assessment (Business interview) done by a native Japanese to ascertain your level to converse in Japanese. Students will be requested to take N2 exam after 1.5 years.

Textbook used: Tobira: Gateway to Advanced Japanese

Conversation Class
In this conversation class, we aim to help you to achieve the following.

1.Accent
-Learn the 4 various types of Tokyo accent.
-Learn how to pronounce words with correct accent

2. Generating the CI
-Understanding how does your brain work when generating ideas
-Learn how to generate the CI to help you to churn out what you want to say

3. Learning how did Japanese people study Japanese
-Understanding 国語
-Forming sentences using the concept of BXE

4. Feeling injection/Music Conversation
-Understanding how to inject feelings into your conversations
-Understanding how Japanese express their feelings through their conversation.
-Music Conversation: How to use music to help you to improve your conversation

5. Forming complex sentences
-Understanding 活用 and 連体形
-Practising complex sentences with complex sentence structures.

and much more. (^_^)

At the end of the course, there will be a short oral assessment done by a native Japanese to ascertain your level to converse in Japanese.

Duration of course: About 1 year

Business Japanese 1
In the business Japanese 1 class, we aim to cover the following

Business Japanese Manners/Etiquette
Understanding Japanese people
敬語
Tele-conversational skills in Business Japanese
Writing Business emails
Meeting Japanese people

Max class size: 4-8

Lesson will be strictly conducted mostly in Japanese, with English and Mandarin to aid understanding. (^_^)

The course is expected to be about 1.5 years, which includes a subsided trip to Japan to aid understanding of what is taught in class.

Expected course fees are about $30 per hour.

N1 準備コース

このコースはN1文法、読解、聴解を勉強します。このコースは1年ぐらいかかります。

あと、このコースを受ける方は授業以外、かなり工夫しなければなりません。また、コースで出題される質問を勉強します。

このコースは日本人の先生と一緒に行います。

N2 Preparation Class
Some of my students who have taken N2 tells me that it’s really hard. Do you guys actually know what do they test you in N2? This is something not many people or teachers know unless they have taken the paper a few times. In short, this preparation class is to teach you not just how to pass the exam, what kind of questions can you expect from JLPT N2 exam and also what the examiners hope you can achieve after passing the exam. This is done in collaboration with many experts on JLPT from Japan.

What will i cover?
1) Understanding what the examiners want from you in the exam
2) How to pass the exam and questions that are likely to come out?
3) N2 Grammar
4) N2 Commonly tested vocabulary
5) N2 Listening
6) N2 Reading
7) Life after N2: What can you do?

Lesson will be strictly conducted mostly in Japanese, with English and Mandarin to aid understanding. (^_^)
