Beginner Class (Foundation Studies)
This foundation studies course is aimed to help you achieve the following:

Core topics:
-What is Japanese all about?
-Why learn Japanese?
-Introduction to the writing systems: Hiragana, Katakana, Kanji
-Introduction to Japanese greetings
-Expressing time in Japanese
-Expressing basic actions in Japanese (e.g. eat, drink, sleep, etc)
-Introduction to Japanese adjectives

Culture:
-Introduction to the Psychology of Japanese people
-Watching Japanese dramas
-Introduction to understanding Japanese songs
-Learning how to navigate around Tokyo/Osaka

Textbook:
Foundation Studies Textbook written by me and reviewed by native Japanese and existing students

Duration of program: 10 lessons (2.5 months)

Beginner Class

In our beginner class, we aim to help you to achieve the following:

-Key point: Ability to converse using simple sentences with Japanese (i.e. if I threw you to Japan for 1 week-1 month, you would be able to find your way around and ask for directions)
-Master at least 150-200 Kanji
-Learn basic Business Japanese phrases
-Learn basic ethics of how Japanese companies operate
-Understand more about the Japanese way of life through real life experiences -Introduce you to some Japanese friends who are staying in Japan/living in Singapore
-Continue the understanding of Japanese culture
-Appreciate and understand how to translate Japanese songs and dramas
-Sing Japanese songs
-Ability to take the JLPT N5 exam at the end of the course

At the end of the course, there will be a short oral assessment conducted by a native Japanese to ascertain your conversational level

Minna no Nihongo 1 (2nd edition)

Duration of program: 30-40 lessons (7.5-10 months)

Intermediate Class

In our intermediate class, we aim to help you to achieve the following:

-Key point: Ability to converse using simple-complex sentences (should be able to speak in Japanese with correct intonation and talk about what you do in daily life)
-In a 2 hour class, 30 minutes will be dedicated to conversation (each student will be asked to converse and ask questions in Japanese for 10-15 minutes)
-Master at least 350-500 Kanji
-Learn Business Japanese and ethics
-Understand more about Japanese history through real life experiences
-Plan your own trip to Japan
-Deepen the understanding of Japanese culture
-Appreciate and understand how to translate Japanese songs and dramas
-Learn N3 advanced useful sentence structures
-Ability to take the JLPT N4 exam at the end of the course

At the end of the course, there will be a short oral assessment conducted by a native Japanese to ascertain your conversational level

Duration of program: 48-52 lessons (11 months-1 year)

Pre-Advanced Class
In my Pre-Advanced class, we aim to help you to achieve the following:

-Key point: Ability to converse using complex sentences in Japanese fluently
– In a 2 hour class, 30 minutes will be dedicated to conversation
-Ability to read newspaper articles with help from a dictionary
-Ability to comprehend coherent conversations in everyday situations, spoken at a natural speed, and generally able to follow their contents as well as grasp the relationships among the people involved
-Master at least 1000 Kanji
-Learn Japanese business manners
-Further deepen the understanding of Japanese culture
-Appreciate and understand how to translate Japanese songs and dramas independently
-Learn some Japanese dialects
-Review accents and intonations of words
-Review of beginner and intermediate grammar
-Ability to take the JLPT N2 or N3 exam at the end of the course

At the end of the course, there will be a short oral assessment conducted by a native Japanese to ascertain your conversational level

Conversation Class
In this conversation class, we aim to help you to achieve the following:

1. Accent
-Learn the 4 Tokyo accents
-Learn how to pronounce words with the correct accent

2. Generate the CI
-Understand how your brain works when generating ideas
-Learn how to generate the CI to help you to churn out what you want to say

3. Understand how Japanese natives learn Japanese
-Understand国語
-Form sentences using the concept of BXE

4. Feeling Injection/Music Conversation
-Understand how to inject feelings into your conversations
-Understand how Japanese natives express their feelings through conversation
-Use music to help you to improve your conversational skills

5. Form complex sentences
-Understand活用 and 連体形
-Practice saying sentences with complex structures
and much more. (^_^)

At the end of the course, there will be a short oral assessment conducted by a native Japanese to ascertain your conversational level

Duration of course: About 1 year
