皆さん、怖くならないで！二重敬語(Redundant Keigo)

おはようございます。今日、二重敬語を紹介したいと思います。

二重敬語は何でしょう？二重敬語というのは誤った敬語の使い方の一つです。
例えば、「お休みになれましたか。」と「お休みになられましたか」と、どちらが正しいでしょう？

答えは

「お休みになれましたか」です。「お休みになられましたか」は二重敬語です。

けど、時々、二重敬語が必要ですよ。例えば、「おっしゃる」や「見える」は、尊敬語としては敬意が十分ではないと感じられるようです。ですから、「お見えになる」も言いますね。下記のウェッブサイトは二重敬語の使い分けの問題がありますので、時間があれば、ご覧ください。 (^_^)

So what’s Nijyuu Keigo? It’s basically one of the ways which Keigo is used wrongly
For example, 「お休みになれましたか。」 and 「お休みになられましたか」, which is correct?
The answer is….

However, sometimes, there is a need for Nijyuu Keigo. For example , for 「おっしゃる」 and 「見える」, the respect that is expressed in these 2 words seems to be insufficient. That’s why, you do say 「お見えになる」.
